[Breach, Cavern of Ages] The chamber's walls are modulated with the same large recesses that pocket the walls of the chamber to the north. Inside each, the red stone is polished to an indulgent surface that highlights the striations in the rock. On the cavern's eastern wall however, something went horribly wrong. The undulating niches are blasted into shambles around a central oval just behind a golden pedestal. There, the rock looks like it has melted, running down the side of the cavern in eddies of molten stone. You also see a golden pedestal with a nebulous sphere hovering above it. Also in the room: Lord Krackenstar, Lord Berr, Lord Jala who is kneeling, Lady Merry who is kneeling, Lord Terate, Lady Heathyr, Lady Risper Obvious exits: north. |
Terate whirls. "We are.."
Terate laughs!
Terate exclaims, "Foolish mortals!"
Heathyr says, "Don't touch the sphere when it pulses red...."
Terate laughs!
Heathyr says, "Wait for it to pulse green."
Risper says, "Red is, apparently, bad."
Risper nods.
You hear the ghostly voice of Beldin say, "I tried to call lightening on it"
Heathyr says, "Oof."
You hear the ghostly voice of Beldin say, "it must be stopped"
Heathyr says, "Well..."
Jala says, "Rise, Chosen one."
Merry says, "so like the Lass said, spells don't work"
Beldin stands up.
You say, "well, ready for the next try"
Beldin tries to manipulate the sphere.

* Tedra just bit the dust!
Suddenly, a bolt of radiant energy streams from the sphere! It strikes you square in the chest, sending searing hot pain throughout your body!
Jala groans.
Risper gestures at you.
Merry asks, "what did you do, Tedra?"
You say, "attacked it"
Risper says, "Perhaps attacking it is a poor idea."
Merry says, "we need non-chosen"
Heathyr says, "Red, green, yellow, blue...."
Terate paces.
Heathyr asks, "Mean anything to anyone?"
Beldin says, "we need to stop it "
Jala asks, "perhaps, for each of us to touch it at a color?"
Risper says, "Arise, to attack no further spheres."
Risper gestures at you.
Terate laughs!
Merry says, "Terate, maybe you can enter it"
You feel awake enough to move again.
Jala says, "we want to shrink the sphere"
You say, "thanks, Risper"
Terate paces.
Jala says, "Heathyr's yellow"
Terate growls ferociously!
Terate stands up.
Terate laughs!
You ask, "ain't it yer turn to try something, Terate?"
Jala says, "I think I'm blue."
Heathyr tries to manipulate the sphere.
The sphere swells with power, leaving the air crackling with static! As the sphere's flare subsides, you notice that it has grown quite a bit in size.
You try to manipulate the sphere.
The sphere flares, sending brilliant blue sparks arcing across the room! As the sparks flicker out, you notice that the sphere has shrunk quite a bit.
Jala says, "or not"
Krackenstar tries to manipulate the sphere.
Black tendrils of anti-mana stream from the sphere! They wrap themselves about your body, chilling you with their touch. As the black wisps begin to fade away, you notice that the sphere has grown in size.
Merry asks, "Risper, you have a mace, right?"
Risper nods.
Terate tries to manipulate the sphere.
The sphere flares, sending brilliant blue sparks arcing across the room! As the sparks flicker out, you notice that the sphere has shrunk slightly.
Terate furrows his brow.

Risper says, "I do."
Terate growls ferociously!
Nyte asks, "any hobbits heres?"

The sphere swells with power, leaving the air crackling with static! As the sphere's flare subsides, you notice that it has grown in size almost imperceptibly.
The nebulous sphere pulses with a orange light.
Merry asks, "isn't it supposed to be magical?"
Berr says, "Smack it with da Mace"
Terate exclaims, "No!"
Jala glances at Risper.
Beldin says, "Yes"
Berr says, "Smack it with da Mace"
Terate growls ferociously!
Risper says, "I think, perhaps, that would be a poor idea."
Jala nods.
Beldin says, "quickly"

Merry kneels down and begins to recite prayers.
Beldin says, "If Terate says no then it is right"
Jala says, "the mace"
Heathyr tries to manipulate the sphere.
The sphere swells with power, leaving the air crackling with static! As the sphere's flare subsides, you notice that it has grown in size a little.
Risper says, "It seems to dislike being attacked."
"...AH SWEET TERATE...YOU HAVE COME TO FEED US...BRING THE SOULS TO US NOW...OPEN THE RIFT WIDER OUR PRECIOUS ONE..."
Beldin says, "hand it and let us try"
The nebulous sphere pulses with a blue light.
Jala blinks.
Berr says, "Dammit"
Risper blinks.
Merry shivers.
Krackenstar exclaims, "never !"
Terate laughs!
Beldin says, "quickly Risper"
You ask, "who has the mace?"
Nyte says, "ye are one of Us Terate"
Terate exclaims, "Yes! YES!"
Merry exclaims, "Now Risper!"
Beldin says, "Risper does"
Heathyr says, "Terate....Terate, defy them...."
* Beldin was just obliterated!
* Beldin just bit the dust!
Terate points at Beldin!
A swirling black void opens just overhead and dark tendrils of anti-mana reach out, enveloping Beldin. Within seconds Beldin is sucked into the void...
* Beldin drops dead at your feet!
You exclaim, "Rayyne, Terate, remember Rayyne!"
Terate laughs!
Terate tries to manipulate the sphere.
Merry exclaims, "no!"
You ask, "who has the mace?"

A swirling black void opens just overhead and dark tendrils of anti-mana reach out, enveloping Krackenstar. Within seconds Krackenstar is sucked into the void...
* Krackenstar drops dead at your feet!

The sphere swells with power, leaving the air crackling with static! As the sphere's flare subsides, you notice that it has shrunk a little.
Risper sighs.
Terate laughs!
* Risper just bit the dust!

Berr suddenly fades into view.

Terate paces, like someone possessed.
Berr whispers, "Dispel him rapidfire"
You exclaim, "Terate, what is in there is not for you!"
Risper stands up.

Berr is discovered by Merry!
Berr rubs a glass amulet.
Berr suddenly disappears.
Merry says, "sorry"
You exclaim, "all that you really want is in our world, with our people!"

Merry says, "was trying to find Beldin"
Jala snarls menacingly!
Risper says, "This must stop."
You exclaim, "Terate, ignore them!"
Merry exclaims, "now Risper!"
Jala nods to Risper.
