[Breach, Cavern of Ages] The chamber's walls are modulated with the same large recesses that pocket the walls of the chamber to the north. Inside each, the red stone is polished to an indulgent surface that highlights the striations in the rock. On the cavern's eastern wall however, something went horribly wrong. The undulating niches are blasted into shambles around a central oval just behind a golden pedestal. There, the rock looks like it has melted, running down the side of the cavern in eddies of molten stone. You also see a golden pedestal with a nebulous sphere hovering above it. Also in the room: Lord Thomasl who is kneeling, the body of Lord Artuero who is lying down, Lord Rasulis who is kneeling, the body of Lord Jala who is lying down, the body of Lord Krackenstar who is lying down, the body of Lady Rayyne who is lying down, the body of Lord Berr who is lying down, the body of Lady Merry who is lying down, the body of Lord Terate who is lying down Obvious exits: north. |
The spirit of Merry sighs softly, raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
Terate groans.
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry exclaim, "oh Terate!"
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry exclaim, "no!"
Rasulis says, "I can not help him"
Terate coughs, "Rayyne.."
You hear the ghostly voice of Nyte say, "We stand by ya Terate"
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry say, "the goddess said one and Risper was lost"
Rasulis begins a careful examination of Terate -- he takes his pulse, checks his temperature, and checks for broken bones or any other ailments.
Terate coughs.
Rayyne says, "Terate"
Rayyne kneels down.
You hear the ghostly voice of Jala say, "Terate, your sacrifice will never be forgotten, I'll be sure of that."
Terate crawls toward Rayyne.
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry say, "oh Terate"
Rayyne just kissed Terate.
You say, "Terate, you can pull through this"
Terate removes a void blade from inside his scaled scabbard.
Terate says, "Rayyne..."
Terate sighs.
Rayyne exclaims, "Oh, Terate!"
Rayyne says, "You are bleeding awfully."
You say, "sheesh, don't die, Terate."
Terate says, "Rayyne.. we.."
Terate coughs.
Rayyne exclaims, "Terate!"
(Rasulis turns his head away)
Rayyne says, "Hold on."
Terate falls back exhausted in Rayyne's arms.
Terate coughs.
Suddenly, Rayyne bursts into tears!
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry exclaim, "hold on Terate!"
Terate says, "Rayyne.."
Thomasl points at some acantha leaf.
Terate sighs.
The spirit of Jala sighs softly, raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
(Rayyne holds Terate close to her heart.)
You hear the ghostly voice of Artuero say, "Kiss him Rayyne."
Terate says, "Take.. this.."
Rayyne just kissed Terate.
With great effort the spirit of Merry gives a keening cry, spectral tears falling to the ground.
Terate offers Rayyne a void blade.
Rayyne says, "don't leave me."
Terate says, "Take it.."
Rayyne accepts Terate's void blade.
Suddenly, Rayyne bursts into tears!
Thomasl gazes heavenward.
Rayyne says, "Don't leave me."
With great effort the spirit of Merry gives a keening cry, spectral tears falling to the ground.
Rayyne exclaims, "Please!"
Rayyne just kissed Terate.
Terate says, "Rayyne.. we wanted.. you as our princess."
You hear the ghostly voice of Berr say, "Safe travels Sorc"
You hear the ghostly voice of Krackenstar say, "strike the void Rayyne ? "
You say, "Terate, we can help you, hold on."
Rayyne says, "Hold on just a while."
Rasulis says, "Merry, I can not rezz you like that"
You hear the ghostly voice of Berr say, "Until we meet again"
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry say, "Rayyne will always be a princess"
Terate says, "Rayyne.. you were the rock that held us."
Terate says, "us.. me."
Rayyne rubs Terate gently.
Terate laughs softly, then coughs.
Rayyne says, "Terate, you are my love."
With great effort the spirit of Merry gives a keening cry, spectral tears falling to the ground.
Rayyne rubs Terate gently.
Terate coughs.
Terate shudders.
Rayyne says, "I can't stand to lose you."
Terate glows with black power!
You say, "damn"
Rayyne says, "Please."
Rayyne rubs Terate gently.
The nebulous sphere pulses with a violet light.
Jala's spirit lets out a hollow moan.
The spirit of Nyte sighs softly, raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
Rasulis bows.
(Rayyne holds Terate close to her heart.)
Merry's spirit lets out a hollow moan.
You hear the ghostly voice of Krackenstar say, "use the blade on the void ?"
Terate says, "Rayyne.. dear one. You were loyalty and love. I.. claim you as my princess."
Rayyne sobs.
Terate says, "Kiss me love."
Rayyne asks, "What void?"
Terate glows with black power!
Thomasl rubs Rayyne gently.
Rayyne just kissed Terate.
You hear the ghostly voice of Krackenstar say, "meant the sphere "
Terate coughs.
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry say, "this is so heartbreaking"
Rayyne sighs.
Rayyne stands up.
Terate sighs.
You say, "I can't stand it"
* Rayyne just bit the dust!
Suddenly, a bolt of radiant energy streams from the sphere! It strikes Rayyne square in the chest, sending her sprawling to the floor...
* Rayyne drops dead at your feet!
With great effort you give a keening cry, your spectral tears falling to the ground.
Thomasl's jaw drops.
You hear the ghostly voice of Jala say, "oh my"
Terate's last breath escapes his lips as a peaceful smile crosses over his face.
* The distant cry of Terate's death echoes in your mind, slowly receding to a quiet whisper carried off on a cool breeze.
Thomasl gazes heavenward.
You howl in frustration at your nonliving state!

You hear the ghostly voice of Artuero say, "He has peace."
With great effort the spirit of Rayyne gives a keening cry, spectral tears falling to the ground.
The spirit of Krackenstar begins to wail eerily.
Terate glows with black power!
You hear the ghostly voice of Rayyne say, "Aye."
You hear the ghostly voice of Nyte say, "Aye"
You hear the ghostly voice of Artuero say, "Perhaps he did not know that in life."

You see Terate Niebelun, an elf of purest Elven blood. Terate lies in an expanding pool of dark blood, his body broken and torn. His silver hair is fanned around him, stained red where the longer curls fall across his chest. Terate's lips are curled in a soft smile, and his countenance is one of ultimate peace and tranquility. |
You hear the ghostly voice of Merry exclaim, "oh Terate!"
Terate's body suddenly seems to shimmer. Then, with a faint whisper of a sigh, it falls away to ashes, leaving nothing but an outline in the sand.
You hear the ghostly voice of Rayyne ask, "Terate?"
You hear the ghostly voice of Artuero say, "He is an elf like me again."
