The Destruction of Silverwood Manor
Part One * Part Two * Part Three
This is the third and final installation of the story of the destruction of Silverwood Manor. Please read and remember.
The Story: This is Anilas' third visit in the Landing. As noted in the second part of the story, Anilas was attacked on his way to the Landing, and most of his essential ingredients for the Ritual of Origin were destroyed. After having another day to collect materials, he is now attempting the Ritual again. These are the events that transpired.
This is the 25th day of Imaerasta, 5101. The events that transpired are as follows:

Anilas shifts his weight.

Anilas says, "The manors will be returned to most places, however..."

Anilas says, "Please, form a circle around the lovely lady here and I."
Anilas smiles at Ilvane.
Ilvane fidgets.
Ilvane blushes a delicate shade of pink.
Anilas says, "I will need each and every one of you to concentrate upon a haven of Lore, and be of absolute silence."
Anilas strides over to stand before Ilvane.
Anilas says, "M'lady, hold the Eldritch Crystal aloft in your hands..."
Anilas says, "And focus yourself on it."
Ilvane smiles nervously.
Ilvane nods to Sistermarie.
Ilvane raises her glowing crystal skyward!
(Ilvane concentrates closely on the image of the Manor)
Ilvane closes her eyes for a moment.
Anilas closes his eyes for a moment.
(Ilvane remembers the gardens, and the gates..)
Ilvane runs her fingers across the surface of the crystal.
A soft violet light trails behind Ilvane's touch. The crystal in Ilvane's hand shimmers with light, its inner mists flowing wildly within.
Sistermarie says, "ooooooo"
Ilvane gazes in awe at the crystal in her hand.
Ilvane gazes up into the heavens.
(Ilvane remembers the strong manor, the walls standing tall)
Ilvane closes her eyes for a moment.
Anilas closes his eyes for a moment.
The mists inside the crystal fade into nothingness, replaced by the tiny form of a beautiful manor within its faceted depths.
Anilas smiles softly.
Anilas says, "Now, if you could, M'lady. Place the crystal upon the ground."
Ilvane nods.
(Ilvane places the crystal on the ground gently)
Ilvane says, "Rilven..come here with it"
(Ilvane protectively watches the crystal)
Anilas smiles.
Anilas removes an antiqued golden mirror inset with sapphire-hued jewels from in his veniom-worked satchel.
Anilas says, "Now, we shall extract the beautiful manor."
Anilas says, "Please, focus yourselves and concentrate."
Anilas gazes up into the heavens.
Jullius gazes with interest at a glowing crystal.

Desorceri slowly empties his lungs.
Lombrosis gazes with interest at a glowing crystal.
Joter stares at a glowing crystal.
Zennder stares at a glowing crystal.
Anilas smiles softly and makes broad, sweeping gestures as he begins to chant archaic phrases.
Strong winds begin to swirl around Anilas as he continues to recite arcane verses, causing his hair to fly wildly about.
The air around you crackles with potent energy, and the crystal begins to rise off the ground.
Anilas raises his hand toward the crystal, causing it to stop its ascension. It slowly begins to spin, its faceted surface glinting with a violet light.
Anilas says, "Concentrate my friends."
Anilas smiles faintly and holds his mirror at arm's length, its reflective surface faced towards him.
Anilas touches the two blue jewels set at the sides of the mirror, causing the reflective surface to ripple with an ethereal sheen.
Anilas faces the mirror's reflective side toward the crystal, his fingers reaching to touch the glassy blue jewel inset at the top of the mirror.
Anilas recites:
"Vebril mirror of a distant age,
I seek your lore, as from a sage.
With power sought, but beyond measure,
Help reclaim our hidden treasure."
The mirror in Anilas' hands begins to shiver, like a creature awakening from an age-old sleep.
A crackling blue arc of energy bursts from the mirror's top-set jewel, hitting the crystal that hovers in mid-air.
Two more arcs reach out from the side-set jewels on the mirror, their jagged forms pulling at the crystal, which hums in response. Anilas holds the mirror tightly as he whispers words of power.
The arcs of energy flail wildly about, but maintain their hold on the hovering crystal, drawing it nearer and nearer. As it comes within inches of the mirror, it stops spinning and becomes very still.
The pointed end of the crystal touches the top-set jewel of the mirror, heralding an explosion of intense blue light. The crystal begins to shudder and shake, but the mirror does not relinquish its grip.
Semi-translucent wisps of blue energy jump from the mirror onto the crystal, the surface of the once brilliant-colored artifact beginning to darken under the power of the mirror.
The crystal continues to darken, its faceted surface becoming nearly dull-black. Anilas watches the crystal carefully, and he nods slightly.
Anilas intones a single word, and the crystal drops to the ground with a small *clang*. Slowly, color begins to return to the small object.
Anilas' hands curl around the sides of the mirror, two fingertips tracing the perimeter of the blue jewels inset into its sides. With a barely-heard sigh, the wisps of blue energy recede and fade into the mirror.
Anilas smiles brilliantly and holds up the mirror for all to see. The image of a beautiful manor can be glimpsed within its depths, half-shrouded in mist.
Anilas says, "The Manor has been extracted."
Anilas says, "Do not worry about the Eldritch crystal, for its power is great. It simply needs time to regenerate what the mirror took from it."
Anilas says, "If you please, Ilvane, retrieve the crystal."
Ilvane picks up a glowing crystal.
Anilas nods.
Anilas says, "Listen close my friends."
Anilas says, "The time has come for the Ritual of Origin. I will attempt to manifest what the Vebril mirror is holding within."
Anilas says, "Anilas says, "Allow us to move outside of the gates, for I would not want anyone to be injured in its summoning."
Elder Lorekeeper Anilas just went out.
[Wehnimer's, Erebor Square]
This quiet corner resembles a calm island amid the bustling life of Wehnimer's Landing. At the west end, a low, broad dome is visible. In the center of the square, several benches of polished wood and smooth stone surround a sculpture. Cast in bronze, the work inspires a sense of peace, calm and strength that wells up from the depths of your soul. A gold plaque mounted on a gracefully chiseled malachite base stands before it. You also see the Heuward disk, a pretty flower girl, The Wehnimer's Museum and an ironwork gate.
Also here: Sturgen, Lorekeeper Jullius, Mystra, Triena, Sepip, Meffridus, Elligon, Lorekeeper Joter, Mentor Letisha, Lorekeeper Arimantis, Lorekeeper Morganwyn, Lorekeeper Meshach, Lorekeeper Dremerie, Lorekeeper Antalya, Lorekeeper Delyorik, Lorekeeper Ylena, Lorekeeper Llorrin, Mentor Lemandria, Lorekeeper Lurch, Lady Pyrocite, the Esteemed Clerac, Lorekeeper Alisanne, Lorekeeper Spaewife, Lorekeeper Nofret, Mentor Ryshan, Mentor Aurien, Lorekeeper Sistermarie, Lorekeeper Avira, Lorekeeper Dagor, Lorekeeper Quaedii, Lorekeeper Jaxia, Lorekeeper Nephrenia, Mentor Arliquin, Mentor Aalyiah, Lorekeeper Heuward, Desorceri, Gotinks, Shadowmaiden, Lorekeeper Nindy, Lord Kabann, Kvath, Journeyman Lomondil, Jadex, Journeyman Zennder, Lord Sothog, Magdolean, Lanivad, Evelle, the Legendary Sianan, Gowain, Azorack, Izler, Journeyman Argaine, Seragyn, the Legendary Starkly, Lady Rilven, Mentor Council Seesfar, Lord Krondal, Gaela, Aranrhod, Lady Ilvane, Lombrosis, Elder Lorekeeper Anilas
Anilas says, "If you would be so kind, sir. Lock the gate so no one gets injured."
Clerac nods to Anilas.
Clerac says, "of course."
Clerac removes an obsidian key and quickly locks the gate.
Clerac says, "I will check inside."
Clerac leaves Heuward's group.
Anilas says, "Please, if you have live animals on you, you might wish to calm them to sleep. I would not want them to be frightened by the energy."
Clerac put an obsidian key in his white silk longcoat.
Clerac quickly steps through the gate.
Anilas says, "Form a half circle around me, from starting at one side of the gate to loop around to the other."
Anilas says, "Face the gate, and prepare yourselves."
Anilas says, "This is dangerous magic, and it will require absolute silence and concentration."
Anilas says, "Please, concentrate for your strength will be needed."
Anilas says, "Let us begin."
Anilas smiles slowly and turns the mirror to face him; he brings his free hand up to touch the top-set jewel in its center.
Anilas shudders momentarily, but words quickly pour from his mouth. Under his touch, the jewel begins to pulse slightly, its deep blue color swirling with streaks of green.
Anilas speaks louder now, his arcane words becoming more insistent. Slowly, the stone shifts from a deep blue to a warm green.
Anilas nods in satisfaction, his chanting unstifled as green tendrils of energy snake along the mirrors surface toward the other two gems inset at the sides. Within moments, all three jewels shimmer with the warm green hue.
Crackles of green energy run along the mirror, jumping off in frenzied wisps. Anilas releases his grip from the object, and it stays comfortably aloft, held in mid-air by an unseen force.
The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending towards the heavens.
With a gesture from Anilas, the mirror hovers toward the ironwork gate.
Anilas says, "Concentrate my friends."
Anilas closes his eyes for a moment.
A heavy drizzle trickles down from the grey skies.
Anilas smiles faintly and inhales. He places himself behind the mirror, his hands held high above his head as if to beseech the gods themselves.
Anilas recites:
"Underneath the star-lit sky,
Fear drains from within our eye.
Protection, haven, safety sweet,
Of the night our ancestors bequeath."
Anilas brings his hands sharply downwards, his palms outstretched toward the mirror as he yells out a line of ancient magic. Strong winds begin to buffet the area as the mirror begins to hum with an intense power.
Anilas recites:
"Lorekeepers of the past and distant year,
Your guidance we seek, your wisdom near.
Bring forth the Haven of Teaching and Lore,
Bring Forth the sacred Manor, ever-more."
The heavy rainfall makes it difficult to see more than just a few feet ahead.
Anilas stares directly ahead, lines of painful concentration marring his features. Suddenly, three brilliant beams of green light burst from the mirror, bathing the area in a bright glow.
A blinding flash of lightning is quickly followed by a low rumble of thunder.
In response to Anilas' words, the surface of the mirror begins to ripple like water, a white light emanating from deep within its very core. The green beams of energy steam through the gate and run along the courtyard lawn, as if caressing a fallen friend.
Barely visible against the intense light, the outline of a building begins to take shape in the courtyard through the ironwork gate.
Thin wisps of green energy twist along the ground, flowing towards the gate. You feel deep within you something being pulled at, as if it were trying to be wrenched free.
Anilas exclaims, "Focus, my friends! Concentrate on your very strength and soul!"
The surroundings are blurred with a downpour of obscuring rain.
Anilas gestures sharply, his hands moving at a blinding speed. The beams of green energy flowing from the mirror begin to run across the faint outline, causing more details in the structure to materialize before you.
The distinct form of a building can be seen filling the empty courtyard, its wavering form still translucent.
Anilas' chanting become drowned out in the hum of power which emanates from the mirror. He raises his hands up toward the sky, and then brings them down violently against the upper edge of the mirror, his mouth open in invocation.
(Delyorik reaches towards the ironwork gate, as if to climb it. He glances around with a funny look on his face, then slowly backs away from the gate.)
Delyorik says, "The.....the gate..."
Delyorik glances at an ironwork gate.
Delyorik gulps.
Delyorik says, "The gate....it's...."
Delyorik gulps.
A sudden gust of wind tosses leaves and twigs to scatter and dance.
Delyorik says, "Um....it's...."
Delyorik fidgets.
A bright white light streams from the mirror, through the ironwork gate, and hits the translucent building with a deafening explosion of blinding radiance!
(Delyorik stares at the gate with an odd expression in his eyes.)
As your vision clears, you see Anilas kneeling on the ground, mirror in hand. He lifts his head up to gaze at the new manor where the empty expanse once was. Its form is no longer translucent, but solid, fresh, and real.
Anilas pants.Lavinnia pokes Sistermarie in the ribs.
Anilas slowly empties his lungs.
Anilas smiles faintly, his skin seems to be paler.
Mystra asks, "Now then if our faithful Clerac wuld open the gates maehaps we culd all enter?"
Anilas says, "Don't celebrate just yet..."
Anilas gazes in awe at the mirror in his hand.
the Esteemed Clerac just arrived.
Clerac exclaims, "I'm comin!"
Clerac removes an obsidian key from in his white silk longcoat.
Clerac mutters something about doorbells.
Clerac covers his ears.
Clerac leans against an ironwork gate.
Clerac mutters under his breath.
Clerac exclaims, "Quit yer screaming in my ears!"
Clerac grumbles.
Clerac quickly unlocks the gate and steps to the side.
[Silverwood Manor, Courtyard]
Painted a pristine shade of white, a short stone wall lines the entire expanse of the courtyard. Leading towards the entry of the manor, short boxwood hedges line the multicolored stone path. Verdant grass provides a suitable place to sit and listen to a lesson, and a small tree to the back of the courtyard lends shade if needed. Azalea bushes with resplendent pink blossoms edge the wall, adding a touch of color to the area. You also see the Dragoncall disk, a delicate rose bush, a carved haonwood door, a silver bell with a long silken rope, a donation bin and a sign you really should READ.
Elder Lorekeeper Anilas just arrived.
Anilas says, "Welcome to your new home, fellow brothers and sisters."
Carved with with the image of two tall trees and marking the entryway into the manor, this door is a work of art.
It is open.
Clerac says, "Thought that key was going to snap for a moment."
Clerac seems to be trying to figure out how to turn an obsidian key.
Anilas says, "But I fear we're not done yet. We must travel to Icemule Trace before I grow tired."
Anilas asks, "Who shall escort me to the frozen city of the north?"
Anilas says, "Before we go to Icemule Trace, I think Ilvane and I should stop by Clarista and return the crystal."
Notes:
From here, the group traveled to Grey Wind Manor, and then on to Icemule Trace. In Icemule, Anilas attempted the Ritual of Origin once again. He was successful in restoring the manor's presence in the northern town. The manor is an exact duplicate of the one that now exists in Wehnimer's Landing.
However, Anilas gave his own life to restore the manors. Long live Anilas, Elder Lorekeeper and friend to all.
