The Destruction of Silverwood Manor

Part One * Part Two * Part Three

The Story:  Silverwood Manor had been consistently attacked by magical means for the past few days.  Inside the manor, certain doors and areas were fused closed and made useless by these attacks.  The Lorekeepers were confused to no end.  This night, the magical attacks came to an end.  The result?  The disappearance of the manors in both Wehnimer's Landing and Icemule Trace.  The events that transpired next are as follows:

Today is Restday, day 23 of the month Imaerasta in the year 5101. It is 10:21 by the elven time standard.

You see Elder Lorekeeper Anilas Elril-Galith the Elf.
He appears to be in his 140's, has long, braided silver hair, violet eyes, and tanned skin.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a floor-length cerulean damask robe cinched with a length of silver-white silk, a blue veniom-worked satchel, and some leather sandals.

Your mind tingles with Anilas's thoughts, "Fellow Lorekeepers, if you can hear me. I am Anilas, from the Elder Council in Nantu."
>
Your mind tingles with Jullius's thoughts, "We hear you."
>
Your mind tingles with Llorrin's thoughts, "We kin hear ya Anilas...hullo an' well met."
>
Your mind tingles with Sistermarie's thoughts, "Anilas, did ye steal our building?"
>
Your mind tingles with Mystra's thoughts, "'Lo Anilas...maehaps ye culd explain to us please about Silverwood Manor?"
>
Your mind tingles with Seesfar's thoughts, "quite all , and lets listen to what this voice has to say"
>
Your mind tingles with Anilas's thoughts, "I fear I am too late... I knew this was coming, but the weather befell and covered my path with a mudslide. I was delayed."
>
Your mind tingles with Sistermarie's thoughts, "ermmmm borry?"
>
Your mind tingles with Anilas's thoughts, "Come, join me in the Wehnimer's Landing Courtyard, where your once beautiful manor stood. And I shall tell all."
>
Anilas says, "I am Anilas Elril-Galith, a member of the Elder Lorekeeper Council in Nantu, where the central hub of Lorekeepers sits."
>
>Anilas says, "I knew this travesty was coming, but because of the weather I was delayed..."
>Anilas says, "A twisted Sorcerer, who once was a Lorekeeper like some of you, felt ill wishes against those who 'kept' knowledge to themselves."
>Anilas says, "This Sorcerer attacked one of our Eastern Lorekeeper hubs, and stole a rare and powerful tome."

>Nofret asks, "A black tome?"
>Joter raises an eyebrow in Anilas's direction.

>Anilas looks over at Nofret and shakes his head.
>Anilas says, "Inside this tome was the magic to see what you saw this evening..."

>the Esteemed Clerac just arrived.
>You see the Esteemed Clerac Ohronin the Elf.
He appears to be in his 100's, has thinning dark brown hair, green eyes, and fair skin.
He is in good shape.
He is holding an opal-capped snow white oak staff in his left hand.
He is wearing a silver scroll-shaped pin, an antique silver armband, some soft leather soled shoes, a pair of white silk pantaloons, a gold-buttoned white linen shirt, a tailored white silk longcoat, and an intricate silver vaalorn ring.

>Lyrienne blinks at Clerac.
>Neq nods to Clerac.
>Lurch asks, "Tie one on last night? Where have you been?"
>Lurch cocks his head at Clerac.

>Anilas says, "While I discovered his attempts, I failed in the end..."

>Your mind tingles with Sistermarie's thoughts, "NOW Clerac arrives."

>Anilas says, "All across the continent..."

>Clerac pays close attention to the words of Anilas.

>Anilas says, "Lorekeeper hubs have vanished before their owners eyes, in a dark blue sphere."
>Anilas says, "Some have survived as they found the answer I had, but others did not."
>Anilas says, "Unfortunately it seems the two hubs in Western Elanith did not find that answer..."
>Anilas says, "Icemule and Wehnimer's Landing hubs were... taken."

>Jullius asks, "So they are still intact someplace else?"

>Anilas says, "Since the first attack on one of our Hubs..."

>Xulia squints at Anilas.

>Anilas says, "The Council of Elders in Nantu have been trying to track this Sorcerer, a fellow brother..."

>Clerac whispers to the group, "We may be without door, but the bell remains intact."

>Anilas says, "Unfortunately, we have not been able to find where he is taking the manors, and their knowledge kept within."

>Indica asks, "Anyone inside any of 'ems?"

>Nethrac asks, "whats his name?"
>Nethrac stares off into space.

>Joter asks, "Is there a way to track the magics that took them?"

>Anilas says, "No, all the Lorekeepers have left before the buildings vanished."
>Anilas says, "Only knowledge remained within."

>You say, "Fortunately."

>Anilas smiles slightly.

>You say, "Anilas, share more, if you will."

>Anilas nods.
>Anilas says, "In my attempts to prevent this Sorcerer..."
>Anilas says, "I have found, what I hope to be, a solution to this incident."

>Meffridus turns an inquisitive ear towards Anilas.

>Sistermarie says, "A solution? Oh do go on."

>Anilas says, "While the Council of Elders seeks at tracking him, we as Lorekeepers must strive forward with our oaths and the common goal we all share as citizens."

>You nod to Anilas.

>Anilas says, "With permission from the Council..."

>Seesfar turns an inquisitive ear towards Anilas.

>Anilas says, "My solution will bring an era of security to the Lorekeepers and the knowledge they keep."

>Ionica asks, "At what cost, Anilas?"

>Anilas smiles at Ionica.
>Anilas says, "That, unfortunately, is unknown."
>Anilas says, "What I have found is ancient, and more powerful magic than what has caused this."
>Anilas says, "I cannot do it alone, I'm afraid."

>Seesfar says, "Anilas, there are those of us here willing to give of our lives if this be the cost"

>Anilas says, "It will require all the local Lorekeepers, and the citizens in their towns."

>Seesfar says, "speak of what you need, and we shall do what we can"
>Anilas smiles at Seesfar.

>Clerac whispers to the group, "Lore is passed on as much by story as it is by tome."
>You nod to Clerac.

>Ylena says, "Frankly, Anilas, I'd know more before we open ancient and more powerful magic."
>Morandas points at Ylena.
>Morandas says, "what she said"

>Anilas says, "You are wise like some of the Elders who did not like the idea."
>Anilas says, "But I trust this knowledge and magic I have found."

>Ylena says, "Anilas, no offense, but we just met you."
>Heuward says, "and why should we trust you..."
>Heuward peers quizzically at Anilas.

>Anilas nods to Ylena.

>Xulia grins at Ylena.
>Lurch says, "There is that too"
>Lurch nods.
>Heuward asks, "our manor just vanishes and you say you knew of this prior?"
>Heuward asks, "and we should trust you now?"
>Indica says, "Takes awhile t'come from Nantu"
>Heuward works his fingers under his green mithril helm and scratches his head.
>Heuward shrugs.

>Anilas says, "You do not have to trust me if you don't. I can attempt it on my own, but the success would be nill."

>Joter asks, "And even if you could not make it yourself, no message of warning?"
>Ylena says, "This was one building."
>Meffridus says, "one must have trust in someone to go forward, if that fails there is nothing the citizen's cant overcome"

>Anilas says, "But know this..."

>Ylena says, "I'd not want to see my entire town disappear."
>Lurch says, "We would act in good faith, and do what is necessary, to be sure. But I think you can understand our position here."
>Lurch nods to Anilas.
>Joter says, "Two, they are both gone"
>Seesfar says, "My brother and sister Mentors and friends, we have lost much this eve, what more can it cost us to trust in one we do not know"
>Nofret says, "What does this magic involve..."
>Kedryn says, "Old and ancient magic is usually that way for a reason. It usually leads to the old "Out of the stewpot and into the campfire" kinda problems."
>Sistermarie says, "Anilas. I believe we would like a bit more information afore we decide."

>Anilas says, "I have taken the same oath as some of you as a Lorekeeper. It is that oath you should trust."

>Llorrin says, "Wha' is this magic to accomplish...Anilas...All ye ha'e said is it will help us."

>Anilas smiles at Llorrin.

>Llorrin says, "It will...solve our problem."
>Indica asks, "Many times, lorekeepers have traveled from far off ta help us. As many times, we have doubted them. Have they led us wrong?"
>Seesfar moves to stand in front of Anilas.
>Lyrienne asks, "Did you not say that this sorcerer who caused the trouble was a Lorekeeper?"
>Lyrienne chuckles.
>Aedynh says, "Who, if I am not mistaken, you mentoined was a Lorekeeper as well previously."
>Nofret says, "You have not told us what the magic calls for, or what price we must pay for using it."
>Ylena says, "I'd feel better if the Elders liked your concept."

>Anilas says, "Some did, some did not. We all agree and disagree."
>Anilas nods to Ylena.

>Anilas says, "I have not come to cause conflict and strife between your fellow hub."

>You say, "Something bids me to trust him."
>Seesfar nods to you.
>You say, "And my trust is not given lightly."
>Nocos nods to you.
>Lurch says, "Your timing is....curious to say the least..."
>Llorrin says, "Ah will help ya Anilas...o' course...Ah jus' wish ta know wha' we are goin' ta accomplish. Ah donnae follow blindly."
>Ionica says, "Aye, Delyorik. I have concerns, but I will stand with Anilas."
>Vanthar nods to Lurch.

>Anilas says, "As I have said, I knew of this from his first attack to take the tome..."
>Anilas says, "But it was his weather making that delayed me."
>Anilas says, "The rain, and the mudslides."

>Xeldria asks, "You sure he wasn't a wizard?"

>Anilas says, "He knew all sorts of magic, profession held no boundaries for it."

>Lurch asks, "Alright... what must be done, and how quickly must we take action?"

>Anilas says, "Here is what I propose..."
>Anilas says, "Upon two nights forward, I shall return again with my things that I left in an attempt at faster travel..."
>Anilas says, "It will be that evening, under the moons of the heaven where we shall try and attempt to bring back the safety and security for knowledge in Western Elanith."
>Anilas says, "However, know this..."
>Anilas says, "I cannot guarentee safety for those who join circle with me under the Ritual."

>Ionica asks, "What hour shall we gather, Anilas?"

>Anilas says, "I will need as many Lorekeepers as can arrive, as well as citizens of both towns."
>Anilas says, "We will attempt the ritual twice."
>Anilas says, "Once here.."
>Anilas says, "And once in the frozen land to the north."
>Anilas smiles.
>Anilas rubs his chin thoughtfully.
>Anilas appears to be lost in thought.
>Anilas appears to be lost in thought.
>Anilas blinks.
>Anilas says, "Sorry... I was thinking."
>Anilas smiles softly.
>Anilas says, "Upon two nights forward, around the ten and a half strike of the Elven clock..."
>Anilas says, "We shall commence the Rituals."
>Anilas says, "His name means little, fellow brother. The Elder Council will deal with him when they find him."
>Anilas says, "That will be Tilamaires, the 25th."
>Anilas says, "We shall have one circle. And then move to the northern hub when finished with this one first."
>Anilas says, "They can be the same if their strength will guard me."
>Anilas says, "As many people as we can get to fill the circle, the better."
>Anilas says, "The Ritual will rely upon your strength and spirit, as well as mine."
>Anilas says, "The Ritual is what will need the strength, for it is powerful."
>Anilas says, "Are there any questions before I return back to the village in which I left my belongings."
>Anilas says, "I will return upon the 'eve I mentioned early, so we can prepare. If anything happens between now and then, you can inform me."
>Anilas says, "However, I don't expect him to try anything else."
>Anilas says, "He has attained what he wished."
>Anilas says, "He knows not of my coming, as he believes all of the Council is seeking him."
>Anilas says, "And not trying to undo what he has done."
>Anilas says, "If there is no more questions, sleep and rest well. I shall see you upon two nights forward."
>Anilas says, "Good evening, fellow Lorekeepers and citizens. May knowledge bring light upon your eyes."
>Anilas bows.
>Elder Lorekeeper Anilas just went out.
